Designing Your Retail Pharmacy

TCGRx understands your need for a partnership when making a big decision for optimizing your pharmacy.

1. Site Visits and Our Showroom

Our trained sales representatives will meet with you to educate you on the high-level features and benefits of our products. If you are ready to move forward, you can visit a current customer site that utilizes the system, or visit our full showroom in Wisconsin.

2. TCGRx Design Engineers

Once it has been determined your pharmacy is looking for workflow automation, you will be paired with a design engineer at TCG, who will develop a layout that fits your space and needs. They will analyze your current workflow, formulary, inventory, labor requirements and determine how to resolve any concerns and issues you may be facing. Our experts will design your new layout, and walk you through the new workflow to make sure the design will suit your needs.

Our head engineer has over 15 years of experience with pharmacy design, optimization, analytics, and pharmacy strategy. He has been part of the TCG engineering team for the past 6 years, and has visited over 500 pharmacies in all pharmacy markets in North America, including: Retail, Nutraceutical, Long-Term Care, Hospital, and Mail Order in North America. Not only is he familiar with designing a space from a technical drafting standpoint, he understands pharmacies – how they operate and function each and every day. He works with you to make sure our solutions for your pharmacy workflow are cost-effective, and that your staff is also effectively utilized to its maximum potential.

Before and After Beacon Installation

Before and After Beacon Implementation

Pharmacies are typically last on the list for space in many markets, and retail pharmacies need room for customer consumables. To make the most of the existing space in your pharmacy, our Beacon® product was designed to maximize even the smallest of spaces. By taking advantage of barcode and pick-to-light technology, Beacon fits more bottles per square foot than any traditional fixture. In addition, all fixtures are mobile and modular, so if your space needs to be reconfigured in the future, or if you move, the fixtures will still fit your space.

Expandable Speed Shelves, Scan Accessibility, and Flat Shelves

Workstations

Our workstations are designed for techs and pharmacists to handle all processes of the script filling cycle. The tabletops are deep enough to accommodate machines like our AVF-6 Vial Filler or our CompletePacTM machines. Not only are the workstations mobile, but they are also designed for first-in, first-out to reduce expired med count. The workstations hold small or bulk bottles, utilize flat or speed shelves, and the number of shelves can be configured.

High Density Drawer

High-Density Drawers

With Beacon, stocking will become faster, the filling of prescriptions will be simplified, and auditing inventory will be easier. The high-density drawers are customizable for small or large bottles, liquids, vials or storage, and fit and an average of the same amount of inventory in 11 square feet as 160 linear feet of traditional shelving.

Beacon Carousel Small

Carousels

Traditional carousels can be bulky, extremely heavy and require special wiring. TCGRx Carousels are noticeably lighter, require no special wiring or floor reinforcement, and multiple technicians can pick medications simultaneously. Our carousels come in 2 sizes – 110mm & 180mm – and are designed for unit of use and unit dose picking. Your staff will be excited to know that TCGRx carousels allow for multiple techs to pick from simultaneously by user-designated color LED light picking.

SH300/SH500 High Density Shelving

High-Density Shelving

TCGRx SH300 / SH500 high density shelving helps make bulk items more visible. The Beacon storage shelves are ideal for vial box storage, extra large bulk storage, supplies, canisters and frequently used formulary. Both the SH300 and SH500 allow you to utilize flat or speed shelves and configure the height for small or large bottles, canisters, boxes, vials, IV bags, unit dose, unit-of-use and liquids.
