Job Overview:

The Implementation Specialist is responsible for the implementation of TCGRX pharmacy automation products. This will require onsite implementation and training of the pharmacy staff. The installation will require physical and technical installation of the equipment. Must be willing to work extended and off hours, and able to travel.  

Experience Necessary:

Self-motivated worker with pharmacy workflow and practices in either the Long-Term Care, Retail or Acute Care environment. PC set-up or interface skills are a plus.  

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing consulting assistance and coordination to the pharmacy during the implementation.
  • Installing of pharmacy automation and training of pharmacy staff.
  • Working with a Project Manager to identify tasks and resources for the implementation.
  • Ability to work with a design engineer and pharmacy personnel to identify equipment layout, system operations, and workflow.
  • Actively participating in the development of pharmacy training tools, and leading instruction courses – webinars, and onsite.
  • Refining pharmacy implementation plans, tools, and methodology based on lessons learned from each implementation.
  • Performing follow-up evaluations with the pharmacies.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a pharmacy technician a plus (National Pharmacy Technician Certification optional)
  • Practical pharmacy system operations experience: 
    • Excellent understanding of processes pertaining to medication administration, documentation, medication order flow, and medication delivery systems.
    • Understanding of the impact of automation systems in the pharmacy environment.
  • Computer systems implementation experience – file building, system configuration, integration testing, and personnel training.
  • High business acumen – able to lead meetings, and update upper management.
  • Well organized with the proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
