Outpatient Pharmacy Automation Solutions

TCGRx offers workflow solutions to help outpatient hospital pharmacies in the process of preparing and dispensing prescriptions for patients, employees, and medical staff. Outpatient pharmacies are designed to make patient’s lives more convenient. Outpatient hospital pharmacies work with patients to provide them with their prescriptions before they are discharged, so the patient will have their meds before they follow up with their physician. The prescriptions are either delivered to the patient’s room by the nurse, who will go through all of the medications or the patient can pick them up at the pharmacy onsite before they depart the facility.

TCGRx can show you how to add adherence packaging and expand MTM and ACO initiatives to your pharmacy. Our AdherePac™ pouches, produced by the ATP® 2, can help reduce hospital readmissions and increase revenue for your pharmacy while improving patient outcomes and lowering overall healthcare costs. Medication non-adherence due to complex regimens is one of the top reasons patients are often readmitted to the hospital. AdherePac is packaged in order of pass time with clearly labeled information on administration, simplifying the process for patients. We provide not just the tools to make your pharmacy more efficient and reliable, but also the strategy behind those tools.

How to identify the needs of your outpatient pharmacy

Outpatient pharmacies are often times very small spaces, but provide a great benefit to patients being discharged. TCGRx will take the time to learn your individual pharmacy before providing solutions. Our flexible equipment allows us to develop a completely new pharmacy build, or integrate our pieces into your current environment.

1. Consultation with our sales team.

The process begins with a consultation with a TCGRx sales representative, who works with you to identify your pharmacy’s needs and overall workflow. They consult with you on the number of scripts processed per day, your budget, space allocation, and if you’re looking for automation equipment or workstations to provide you with the best solutions to maximize your footprint and efficiency.

2. A TCGRx workflow engineer is brought on the project.

Depending on the size and complexity of the project, a TCGRx workflow engineer can be brought on to the project. TCGRx provides onsite evaluations to thoroughly review the project, and determine the solutions that best fit your space. The engineer will go through the design with you and determine if any additional electrical work will be required, based on solutions being added.

3. TCGRx will provide you with a quote.

It is a quick process for TCGRx to identify your retail pharmacy needs. Depending on budget, your retail pharmacy can buy a piece of equipment now and another piece next year. You may see that things have improved in your workflow, but you may also find things that still need to be improved upon and TCGRx can reevaluate your retail pharmacy astime progresses. One of the best aspects of working with TCGRx is that everything is mobile and on wheels so it can be moved around if your design changes at a later date.

TCGRx has a full line of outpatient pharmacy solutions, including adherence packaging (AdherePac™), pharmacy fixtures, high-density storage, workflow automation, and inventory management. Our Beacon® Inventory Management System is geared specifically to improve the workflow efficiency and manage the inventory in your pharmacy, while reducing the area for prescription filling and increasing productivity. TCGRx offers some of the most innovative solutions including CompletePac™, a convenient, easy-to-handle solution for both oral and non-oral solid medications, organized by administration time into a single bag to help improve patient compliance.

Pouch Packaging Storage

Reusable Boxes

Medications are dispensed into 7, 14, or 30-day rolls, and sent home with the patient to maintain adherence. If your patient has a caregiver, the caregiver can check the boxes at random and verify when the last dose was taken. The boxes allow for reuse, therefore reducing waste. Available in small, medium and large, with pouch capacities of 42, 133 and 255 respectively, an additional advantage of the reusable boxes is the ability to customize boxes with your unique pharmacy branding. You can add logo, colors, and store/website information to match your pharmacy look, and provide contact information at a glance for the patient.
